Hummus is a dip, spread , or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, It is popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean , as well as in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe.
Chickpeas, the main ingredient of conventional hummus, have appreciable amounts of dietary fiber, protein, vitamin B6, manganese and other nutrients.
I made this recipe first time when I was so hungry and I wasn’t in a mood to go grocery shopping but it turn out to be really good. I thought why not share it. Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- chickpeas – I use the can chick peas but you can go with dry ones it won’t be as fast
- Olive oil
- Garlic
- salt
- lemon juice ( optional )
- Kale (optional ) it adds an amazing green color as well as even more nutrients.
DIRECTIONS:
Fry the garlics in pan with olive oil until they are golden brown.
In the blender pour 20-30 ml of of juice from the chickpeas can or the brought from the cooked chickpeas.
Add the chickpeas (and the kale for the green hummus) and slowly pour the oil and garlic in the blender.
Blend until its smooth and creamy.
